7 Ways To Be Camera Confident
7 Ways To Be Camera Confident
Camera confidence is not something that comes naturally to everyone.
Being in front of the camera comes with a lot of insecurities, yet, people built themselves up, to sweep everyone off their feet with their strong persona in front of the camera!
I have loved being in front of the cam since I was 5, but as I grew up I realized it's not just about standing in front of the camera, it's about presenting a story that connects you with the camera and the audience watching you.
YOUR STORY!
A story that only you can put out there, but it's not everyone's cup of tea, it needs a lot of practice, courage, and a little sass!
So, let me help you get that story out of you with my tips and tricks!
Talk To Yourself
As crazy as it sounds, trust me it's completely sane to talk to yourself!
You gotta hype yourself up when you feel lonely or out of place especially before facing the camera.
It is a healthy way to build motivation and calm your nerves.
When you talk to yourself you create a "presence" that makes you feel better and can have a positive impact.
A little pep talk goes a long way.
I am a certified sloucher.
In my early stage of being on the cam for various events, I often was caught slouching, I still happen to do that.
Over the years I have learned that if you want to have a great impact on your audience you need to stand up straight and keep your shoulders rolled back and your chin up.
Once you look confident you will definitely feel more confident!
Limit Distractions
One of the main reasons for not being able to focus on your body language, expressions and the script provided is being distracted.
Getting distracted by your own thoughts, zoning out, or being on the phone in between breaks will ruin the job at hand and later make you feel guilty!
So put every thought aside until you're done!
The Art of Eye Contact
The most powerful way to make a person feel recognized, intimidated, and validated is this simple act of eye contact.
It is one of the tricks that I have practiced over the years.
Eye contact ignites a story with the camera and the audience and makes people believe you, making you feel empowered like you can conquer the whole world!

Forget about Being Perfect
None of us are perfect in all aspects of life.
It's okay to not be able to give the perfect shot at one go, it takes time and effort to get the angle you desire.
Your audience will appreciate you knowing that you're human and a slight blunder at times isn't the end of the world.
Looking great is the cherry on the cake
Let's admit it we are not supermodels or big celebrities, with stylists and professionals working round the clock to make us ready to face the public.
But, we do have the basic idea of how to dress up according to the theme of an event, it makes us look better on camera and builds a strong presence.
Dress in a way that makes you feel chic and comfortable.
Be Yourself
Being ourselves takes a lot of courage as we put ourselves out there, and wear our hearts on our sleeves, it means being in touch with our inner child, becoming more aware of our thoughts, and taking control of them in different situations.
When we face the cam we need to let the negative thoughts pass through and never forget to have fun while doing our job.
We do wonders when we are our best versions.
